What material is your drill made of?

For those one who have already started to dabble in diamond paintings, drills are certainly no stranger to it. After each parcel is unwrapped, you will see many bags of drills in various colors. The small particles inside are an essential part that determines whether we end up with a complete project and how beautiful that painting can really be.

1.Resin drills and acrylic drills

Every diamond painting lover knows that drills can be divided into square drills and round drills according to their shape, but few people know exactly what material these small particles are made of. In fact, there are usually only 2 types on the market, namely acrylic drills and resin drills. As for how they are transformed from raw materials to finished products, we will talk about that in the future.

Yes, these are the two, and their raw material look like this.

          Resin                                        Acrylic

2.The advantage of resin drills and acrylic drills

In fact, this is not really an accurate statement, as resin and acrylic are still a large category, and in more detail there are actually many specific types. Of course, these are not the concerns of us. All we care about is whether our work looks vibrant and shiny enough when it is finished. So I did a test where I photographed acrylic and resin drills with the same equipment under the same light source. In the end you will find that the acrylic drills seems to be ordinary, whereas the resin drills are much stunning.

3.Some diamond painting insider tips

It is worth noting that in terms of supply chain, resin drills are approximately three times more expensive than acrylic drills. Therefore, when you find a shop or brand that uses resin drills for its diamond paintings, you can guess that the shopkeeper behind it is someone who is very fussy about quality.Because from the point of view of saving on operating costs, they could have used cheaper raw materials.
